There has been a significant increase in legal spending this past year with more work shifting in-house & continued growth in the sizes of legal teams.

Biotech, pharmaceuticals, & life sciences industry had the highest average legal department spend in 2021. Technology companies occupied this position in 2020. When looking at legal spend as a percentage of company revenue on average, the Financial Services industry had the highest spends, followed by Biotech and Pharma, Technology, and Entertainment/Media.

Our client, a leading multinational corporation, needed to expand their team to assist their Senior Counsel in India but didn’t possess the headcount approval. Counselect understood the need-gap, identified, and seconded two legal professionals to the client effective from January 2022.
