Basil is a leading business legal consultant with expertise in designing and executing outcome improvement projects for corporate legal departments. He brings more than 25 years of diverse experience across sectors such as legal services, IT, management consulting, and manufacturing.
The range of roles his career spans include McKinsey consultant (where he helped build a contract excellence practice), law firm partner (led Employment and Commercial Contracting practices) and General Counsel of a listed IT company (captained a business-focussed, award-winning team).
In 2021, Basil established Lawmetrik, a consulting and managed solutions firm which enabled the transformation of legal teams into strategic functions that deliver business value. Lawmetrik became part of Counselect in July 2025.
Outside of work, Basil enjoys relaxing with movies, music, and books. He is also involved in community service, particularly with innovative solutions to address the challenges of urban traffic congestion.
