Mahalakshmi Ravisankar
Mahalakshmi works with leaders to design Customised Compliance Consoles (CCC) to meet industry-specific and operation-centric challenges. Her expertise in developing risk-based models and tech-based solutions helps compliance departments enable business teams.
A law graduate and Company Secretary, Mahalakshmi has over three decades of experience at world-class companies including Unilever, WNS, Diageo, ABB, Marico, Beiersdorf, Bennett & Coleman and Amazon. At these organisations, she has redefined the compliance agenda by focussing on outcomes and governance frameworks that meet the requirements of diverse jurisdictions and regulators.
Her experience spans a wide range of areas within the compliance universe, including third party risk assessment with sanction screening, trade compliance and export control, Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) framework, Supply chain governance, Compliance certification programmes through training and communication, ESG, DEI, POSH and gender sensitivity metrics with emphasis on protection of human rights, etc. Over the course of her career, Mahalakshmi has conducted 1000-plus training sessions and led several high-profile investigations on corporate frauds, nepotism and conflict of interest, employee misconduct and sexual harassment. She specialises in developing insights and analytics based on these investigations as a culture dipstick to drive leadership engagement and training initiatives.
Mahalakshmi has certifications from the Institute of Risk Management in the UK and India Leaders for Social Sector. She has also served as an internal and external member on various POSH committees. As a champion of DEI initiatives, she has served on an advisory committee for promoting gender sensitivity at IIT-Bombay.
