Santosh Gnanaprakash

Santosh G. is a lawyer and company secretary with almost 25 years of experience. He is currently a Partner at a law firm in Bengaluru. He specialises in the end-to-end management of the legal and compliance workstreams of the India operations of multinational corporations, having previously headed the legal operations at two Bengaluru-based Global Capability Centres (GCCs).

Santosh’s work has covered the gamut of shared services operations including domestic and global contracting, employment advisory, secretarial and statutory compliances, data privacy, legal operations, disputes and litigation, licensing agreements, investigations, corporate training, government and regulatory affairs and policy drafting.

In his previous role as ‘Head-Legal Counsel’ of the Bengaluru operation of UK-headquartered retail giant Tesco, Santosh led a team that reported to the CEO and worked cross-functionally to advise on people, procurement, facilities, continuity, compliance, risk and vendors.] In this wide-ranging role, Santosh addressed strategic issues, managed legal obligations in four overseas jurisdictions as well as ensured the smooth daily operation of the Bengaluru hub. Prior to that, Santosh has led multicultural teams at PwC and advised global leadership at Time Inc. India.

Santosh combines his legal experience with a Company Secretary qualification to provide well-rounded solutions encompassing company law, exchange control laws, and tax, finance and accounting considerations.
